Spring-Time Sprinkles!

Since Spring is here, and our new grass has been planted (thank you drought of 2011), Jeff has been watering the grass alot. Avonlea LOVES to be out there with him. It might have a little something to do with her getting drenched in the process.

Such a Big Girl!!

Last Friday, we were down at the beach house and Avonlea kept saying, "Diaper." I decided to let her sit on the "Big Girl Potty" as we call it & see what would happen. Sure enough, Avonlea went while sitting on the "Big Girl Potty". She did it again on Saturday & 4 times today!!!! We are no where near THERE yet with potty training, but we are at least going in the right direction.

Bluebonnet Season!

Today, we went for our annual Texas-wildflower drive. We went to Independence, Brenham & Chapel Hill, Texas. The flowers did not disappoint! It was a beautiful day with lots of beautiful scenery. Avonlea got to run around Old Baylor, swing a little, and get lots of pics taken by her Mommy & Daddy.

Happy Valentine's Day from our Cutie Pie!

This is Avonlea's 2nd Valentine's day. She started her day by going to the Honey Tree (her daycare) and exchanged her first set of valentines with candy. When I went to pick her up, I got her little bag of valentines from the other kids at the center & it kind of blew my mind. She seems to be getting so big, so fast! After that, we ate heart shaped cookies at home which Avonlea enjoyed and requested another by chanting the word "cuuukie." Then we headed down to see Grandma C. (Jeff's Mom) & Granny (Jeff's Grandma). Avonlea had fun swinging, playing on the little putt-putt course and listening to the wind-chimes. Then we went to eat at a favorite Mexican restaurant. When we got home, Avonlea got her Valentine's gift from Mommy & Daddy. We love you so much Avonlea! You are the sweetest thing & a delight to our hearts!

All Grown Up!

Avonlea is now over a year and a half old (19 months) and she is doing a lot of fun things! She still loves to watch Barney, Sesame Street (really only for Elmo) and her Cedarmont DVD's. Lately, she has takin' a shining to Cookie Monster's rendition of "C is for Cookie" on Youtube. She is very active! In fact, this weekend Jeff heard a loud thump from the bedroom and found that she had climbed out of her Pack'n'Play (we were at the beach house, hence the pNp). She loves to name all the people by name that she can & gives lots of hugs & kisses. She weighs 25 lbs. and just applied for her 1st Passport. Her latest word is "boat"; however, it sounds more like "but". It is very cute to listen to her express herself. The two most common phrases used around the house are "uh-oh" even when it isn't an accident & "no-no", something she hears quite often.

17 Months!!

Avonlea is now 17 months old and she is a bundle of fun, sweetness & crazy! She enjoys saying, "Apple, baby, cowboy, ball, cheese, light, cracker, hot, sock, tv" and of course, her favorite word is still "shoe." She is a great eater and loves dancing & climbing. She also loves reading books (each for only a few seconds) & making a duck sound (while flapping her "wings"). Avonlea also loves playing Peek-a-boo and piano. Oh, and she currently has one molar, and 8 front teeth. Our little girl is getting big! Here are some pics from last month...
