At the end of June we headed to Minnesota for our annual stay up there. We had a week in Owatonna before we went up to Bayfield, Wisconsin. On Friday, we set out. Patrick, Jamie, Avonlea, Jeff and I in one car which left earlier so we could stop at the Kaffe Stuga (a traditional lunch/breakfast stop for our family) and Mom and Dad in their car. We checked-in to the condo, got situated and enjoyed shooting wine-corks into a huge vase that was in the condo. We strolled the streets of Bayfield, looking at all the gift shops, candy stores and eateries around the area. Saturday, we took a ferry to Madeline Island where we did more shopping, had a picnic on the beach and tried to stay cool in the unusually HOT temps. Later that evening, we hit up Big Top Chatauqua. We enjoyed Glenn Campbell's farewell tour! It was a fantastic weekend!!!

Avonlea's 2nd Birthday
Okay...So I'm a little backed-up with the blogging, but better late than never, right? On June 7th, Avonlea turned 2. It is so hard to believe that our baby girl is already two and growing up so fast. Grandma & Grandpa Martin, Uncle Jon & Aunt Susan, Cousins Liam, Ellery & Marin were all with her (us) to celebrate.
Two days later, we had her birthday party at our house. We decided to get a bouncy-house to entertain some of the kids (and Big kids). It was a great day of celebration!!!
A few days later, she had her 2 year check-up at the doctor's office.
Avonlea's details:
weight: 26.6 lbs
length: 34 inches
Favorite sayings: "I get it", "I see you", "Shhhhh...______(insert name) sleeping" , counting to 10, saying alphabet (missing some letters, but close enough), "yeah...k", "church"
Favorite foods: chips, cheese, blueberries, grapes, pickles, noodles, yogurt
Favorite shows: Caillou, Barney, Strawberry Shortcake, Cedarmont Musical DVD's
Favorite songs: The itsy-bitsy Spider, Old MacDonald, Deep & Wide, The Wheels on the Bus, Rock-a-Bye your Bear (Wiggles), Jesus Loves the Little Children
Sleeps 7pm-6:30am & naps from 1-2:30pm
Likes: playing at the park, throwing balls around, playing in her kitchen, watching tv, watching people cook, taking baths, shopping, and swimming.

Easter!!!
HE is Risen!!! So thankful that our Savior is alive and conquered death!
Here are our pics from Easter day:
Spring-Time Sprinkles!
Since Spring is here, and our new grass has been planted (thank you drought of 2011), Jeff has been watering the grass alot. Avonlea LOVES to be out there with him. It might have a little something to do with her getting drenched in the process.
Such a Big Girl!!
Last Friday, we were down at the beach house and Avonlea kept saying, "Diaper." I decided to let her sit on the "Big Girl Potty" as we call it & see what would happen. Sure enough, Avonlea went while sitting on the "Big Girl Potty". She did it again on Saturday & 4 times today!!!! We are no where near THERE yet with potty training, but we are at least going in the right direction.

Bluebonnet Season!

Today, we went for our annual Texas-wildflower drive. We went to Independence, Brenham & Chapel Hill, Texas. The flowers did not disappoint! It was a beautiful day with lots of beautiful scenery. Avonlea got to run around Old Baylor, swing a little, and get lots of pics taken by her Mommy & Daddy.
