Linley Belle is 1...was 1 in October!
Galveston.Fish.Fun--October'14
We kicked off October the right way with a fishing trip and
a beautiful beach house stay in Galveston. We literally were able to fish off
of the patio and enjoyed trying our hand at Gulf fishing. It proved to be a lot
harder than I thought it would, but we had a blast anyway! Mason (our friend and fishing expert) showed us the ropes with Gulf fishing and took everyone for spins out on his boat. Jeff caught the most for our family (using a Disney princess pole). Poor Avonlea was resigned to using a normal size fishing pole because her daddy found the secret to success with a bright, pink, miniature-sized rod & reel. ;) Loved this time with family & friends!

Beach, Zoo & an Awesome weekend with the Boldts!
A few weeks ago, my life-long friend Jill, her husband, Ben and their two boys, Grady and Isaac came down to H-town for a visit. We had a great time! Avonlea enjoyed the extra playmates and we enjoyed the extra adults! :) Anyway, we went out to one of our favorite italian restaurants (My Pizzeria on Louetta) after picking them up from the airport. Saturday morning, we headed out to Galveston. We ate at the Spot in Galveston and then headed to the Strand to stock up on some candy and ice cream treats. Then we boarded the ferry. As usual, we spotted a few dolphins off the ferry which was fun for all to see. After getting settled in the beach house, we went to the beach. The northerners really enjoyed themselves in the Gulf of Mexico and we enjoyed watching the kids play in the sand and in the water. Sunday, we attended church and then went to the Galleria to eat lunch. That evening, we chillaxed at the house. Monday was Zoo day. Unfortunately, it was literally 90+ degrees out. Little Isaac was such a trooper. I think that little lad was made for the north as he turned red from the heat/sun/humidity/whoknowswhatelse. That evening, Jeff's Mom, GiGi and Linda came over and watched all four kids. These ladies are the greatest! Jeff and I took Jill and Ben to the Taste of Texas to get a good feel for typical Texas cuisine. Tuesday, they boarded the plane back to MN. Thank you so much for coming to hang for a while! We miss ya'll and loved having you here!
ZOO pics Coming SOON!!
